One thing I can really appreciate since my injury is that I get to have an impact on others, and a good one at that. Ha! Being 4 years post injury I can offer other people who have been injured a little advice & some ideas on things Ive learned since my injury. While also providing hope that the doctors have stolen. They can get the resources for recovery right after an injury to have better chances of recovery. I really enjoy meeting and speaking with people with Spinal Cord Injuries. Now that I am back in my hometown (Richmond, VA) I am eager to get back into the schools to speak to students about the dangers of drinking and driving. My story has changed greatly since last speaking in 2005, but my lessons and advice are still the same. There is no group too big or too small or too young or too old to speak to,so bring me in to speak with your group (or students). Our time will be very informative with a motivational twist for sure!
