My New Trainer... "Dr Dimps" aka Anthony

He goes by the name of Anthony. I met this guy right before I moved to Tampa & he generously accepted my random request to fly out to TX & help Lara & I drive a moving truck to FL. Risky, this I know, since I had only known him a few days, but something was just saying, “Go for it!” Turns out God brought this special blessing of a guy into my life for several reasons. First & foremost, I met a lifelong friend that is actually crazier than I am (hahaJ if possible). He has also spent hours upon hours at my house, helping me get settled & doing all the things that are more difficult in a chair, such as hanging pics & moving furniture.

Anthony is officially my first trainer in Tampa as of last week. I’ve been training him myself & he seems to be picking it up quickly. We have spent the last few days “Building Miracles” (our name for the gym project). J We have redesigned my 1-car garage into a gym for training, which included Anthony building parallel bars, support/therapy boxes & setting it up with the rest of my personal equipment. My Daddy built me a therapy table which started the idea of training in my home. Again, I’ll be posting blogs, pics and videos on my website of my progress.

Livin' back east...but staying south!

Hello everyone! Sorry so long, yet again, since my last post. Big big big changes have taken place in my life and I would like to tell you about some of them.

First, my move to Palm Harbor, FL (west of Tampa). Once again, I'm on the move. Since the end of 2006, I have moved from the east coast to the west coast to central US and now back to the east (where I belong. Ha) I didn't return to Richmond as I thought I would, but God led me to Florida to make my mark. Here, I will be working towards my goal to eventually open a gym for people with all types of physical limitations. I am working with the doctors who made my trip to Peru possible for my stem cell treatments. That is going to open up a wide array of opportunities to further myself in many ways.I will be working on my book here soon. I have been outlining the text and trying to ponder up all the different angles I could take with it.

My move to Florida also means my exit from Texas, and sadly my departure from Pressing On. I have been able to purchase a FES Cycle to continue my therapy while searching for a personal trainer and gym to train in. I have been fundraising to help pay off the expense of the bike. It was rather expensive but one of the most beneficial tools for recovery.

Oops! I must roll out for a lil bit. TBC...

Movin' to Palm Harbor, FL

Movin' to Palm Harbor, FL tomorrow, November 6th. Lara & Anthony (my sweet new friend from Tampa) and I hope to get on the road by noon, but we will see how that works out. We are packing my truck up tonight, well...Lara and Anthony are actually doing the packing of the truck, and I'm supervising there bickering. Its great fun! I'm so lucky to have both of them here sharing this fun moving experience with me *sarcastically, but thankfully* They are great for sure though! I'll update when we get there! Until then... see ya later!

Signing out from San Antonio, TX... and soon from Palm Harbor, FL

The time has come...
After a year in San Antonio,  TX, I am ready to move back east to explore a slightly different career path. It could eventually end in the same goal as before, which was (and still is) opening a center back east. It just may end up in Tampa first.... My life is at difficult crossroad as I have major decisions to make and some hard "goodbyes" to make... God, please let me use the right words to explain my resignation from my current job. I want so badly to continue my relationship with everyone at Pressing On after i leave, so we will see how everyone takes the news. Miss East Coast is headed back east soon, its not "home" back east, but a new home... in Tampa, FL. Can't wait to see what God has waiting for me there... we will see! Miss n Love you all deary! In Him, Stephanie

Happy Birthday to Me!

Well... today is my 26th birthday and I am spending it on my couch! Yeah! A day of relaxing and preparing (mentally) for my upcoming year of life! There are a bunch of fun things planned for this next year, such as another move, new job, at least 1 more stem cell injection, new people to meet & hopefully alot of returns in my recovery. I will do my best to keep everyone updated on my progress and I'll continue to fight in the gym to repay all of your love and support.

I hope you are well.... Take Care Everyone! I'm going to relax now! Haha... BYE!!!

God works at His Time... with His Plan!

THIS IS HOW AWESOME & MIRACULOUS OUR GOD IS...

The girl in this video was my roommate for the past 4 months. But she moved back home to Dallas a month ago. Last weekend, she went on weekend prayer retreat in Washington, D.C. and after they left the event and was headed on their 30 hour trip home, the bus breaks down in Lexington, VA. They had to stay at a Days Inn and they went across the street to Aunt Sarah's to eat. Before you know it, people are praying for Megan and she starts to wiggle her right foot and toes. She is able to stomp her foot. She felt a young girls hands on her legs and she begins to freak out. Then God kept telling her....stand...stand... and at first she was hesitant b/c she didn’t want to fall, but she kept her faith and she had a few people help support her. She scoots to the edge of her seat and STANDS TO HER FEET!!! Her supporters were nothing but supporters of faith, as they were barely holding onto her. Praise God! And, that’s not it!

She traveled back to the hotel in the chair, but was very eager to get out of it once they hit the hotel parking lot. SO again, she stands to her feet, and within a short amount of time, she is able to LITERALLY RUN, like she was never injured at all. WOW!!! She was a MIRACLE from God's Hands and she knew she would be the moment she was told by doctors she would never walk again. Her exact response to the doctors (and the way she continued to believe over the past 6 months that she was paralyzed) was "You don't know my God."

As of last night when I learned of her miraculous story, a week later, she stands strong with ZERO.and I mean ZERO signs of ever having a Spinal Cord Injury AT ALL!!! Her doctors are freaked out and confused with no answers to what they have seen. She is a medical miracle... God's Miracle...

Anyways... if you have not watched the video yet, please do. (It is on my home page, under my video). Keep in mind, this girl was paralyzed from t12 level (IM T10) with NO SENSATION OR FUNCTION in hips or legs, except she had a lil' bit of her quad muscle, but that’s it! OH and... HER BLADDER AND BOWELS ARE FULLY RESTORED WITH FUNCTION AND SENSATION TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! AMEN!!!

Some have said that her body could have just been in spinal shock or it just decided to recover at that moment... even if so... it was God behind the "speediness" of her recovery & HE Worked Very Quickly...within hours to restore the entire nervous system of a person. (Which is said to be impossible at this time BTW)Anyways.. Enjoy the video... and remember her if you ever question if there is a God...
You Must Always Keep the Faith!!!

Life is Good

Hey everyone! I hope you are all well, healthy & Happy as ever! My life in Texas is getting better by the day. I returned to work at Pressing On and know that it was the right decision. The President, Shelly, and I work very well together and we seem to get each other. Finally, I am doing more than just answering phones and being an energetic smile for people to see when they roll in the door. I feel like my purpose is now much larger at Pressing On. I busted my butt to finish my Business degree and after a year I am finally able to apply what I learned. I have been handling the calendar and training schedule. Its kinda funny because now I hear from the client (or client's parents) if they have a problem with who they are training with. What I mean is... in my past there have been some trainers I would prefer to train with and some that I would rather not. This is usually not a problem, but something I have noticed in my last 2 years being in the environment. So far...everything is on the ups. No complaints about my scheduling, so we will see how it goes. Im also starting to plan our ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY fundraiser for October. Wish me luck! Haha... One thing Shelly actually said to me today is... "Its not able luck... its about determination...skill...strength..." Another chance to prove myself to PO that I know what Im talking about... ha well, most of the time. Ha

More to come later about therapy and stuff... gotta roll for now. BYE

Always a lesson to be learned...in all situations.

I've learned...that the Lord didn't do it all in one day.
What makes me think I can? Patience is a virtue. Plus, the "fight" is only making me stronger, inside and out! One thing I would suggest though if I may, (and I heard this from a friend of mine so I can't take the credit). another prayer we can add to the list, is for god to start making people with two spinal cords so when one gets injured...

there's a back-up!!! Lol.like a lizard... Now, there's a thought! haha! bye

Just a tip for my future facility... What I have learned over the past 2 years is that a smaller company can be both a good thing and bad thing. As a client, it is nice to have a smaller group in the gym because it is easier to feel at home and comfortable, while also making it feel like family. As an employee, it is nice to be able to work together on things and there is less of a chance of little "clicks" forming. On the other hand, a smaller facility means more gossip, in a way. People become close with each other and the need for professionalism, respect and confidentiality becomes more important, both for the staff and clients. When you feel at ease with people, you tend to tell them more and lets just face it, people are going to talk. No one really likes to be talked about, especially if it is about something negative or personal to that person, but the majority of people in this world like gossip. Ill stop there, but all in all...

NOTE TO SELF: Don't discuss client issues around other clients. Keep it professional and only discuss issues involving clients and staff behind closed doors or in the appropriate setting.

My thought for 4/28: Good things come to those who are willing to work for it!!! Have Hope & Always Believe anything is possible when you can hand it over to God. Once you realize that you are not in control, God can take over and lead you to victory!!! Keep God first!

HOPE toWalk
